Hongkong Vacation 2016

Finally, got the chance to blog our recent trip to Hongkong. And yes, our first time to fly outside the country!

God has been so faithful and ever gracious on his provision with our lives for this year 2016 #BlessUp! Blessing in every way, indeed!

Day 1

Departure at NAIA Terminal 1

We booked a red eye flight of 5:30 AM, so we're supposed to be at NAIA Terminal 1 at around 4 AM to make sure we won't be late since we're coming from the bundok of tralala, Cavite. lol.

Actually, I wasn't able to take a decent sleep the night before our flight, because of too much excitement! Kel slept like a baby, and I was faking myself to sleep, I ended up getting through our flight wide awake! Why oh why, It's our first out of the country trip together, his first plane ride! and 5 days away from my working desk! That's a real deal! I'm so happy to be with him on his 1st plane ride, hand in hand, more to come, in Jesus name!

Kel looked fresh, while I, on the other hand, smiling ear to ear to wake myself up! haha This photo was uploaded on his FB page with this caption, "Aalis muna kami, kayo muna bahala sa mga anak namin, pasyal ko muna si misis" Haha As if may anak kami! haha NKKLK

After checking in our hand carries & luggage, half an hour waiting, FINALLY we peacefully sat on our plane seat, and ready to fly fly up in the sky! I now appreciate early morning flight, because of the view while taking off the NAIA and welcomed by the rising sun up above the PH sea level, lol. haha. It was a happy sight, of course with my lablab beside me. Thank you Lord for this blessing, seeing your creation from other side of the world widens up our horizon. :*sniff, sniff*

Hongkong Arrival

We arrived at Hongkong International Airport (15) minutes before our scheduled take off. The almost 3 hour flight allowed us to take a nap preparing us to a hustling day of (mis)adventures in the busy streets of Hongkong.
They have a huge airport, right here.

The first thing we did upon checking out our luggage is to convert our Peso to Hongkong Dollars, Thank God for fellow bloggers for different money exchanging options they suggested, this saved us hefty price in the airport. We just exchange few bucks to purchase Octopus Card which will be our main means of transport in Hongkong.

We contacted our friend, Rhea who happen to work in Hongkong to help us waze our way round about our next destination, Jordan Station where our Hotel accommodation is located. We went to the City Bus Terminal just beside the Airport, and waited for the Double Decker - A21 Bus which will drop us by Jordan Station, ticking off our bucket list!

These double deckers are so efficient, and tourist friendly since it has luggage storage with CCTV on the second floor letting you monitor your valuables from time to time. So nice! We sat on the second floor of the bus, looking very touristy with our wide excited eyes! Hongkong is such a beautiful country, indeed!

To keep us sane & in touch with our loved ones, we bought a mobile simcard in the bangketas near our Hotel, which saved us big bucks compare to airport prices! I think it cost us around HKD 30 for that sim loaded with free internet. After settling down with our room which was gifted to us by Kel's cousin Kuya Ryan & Ate Anne, which we dearly love!! we agreed to proceed to our first destination which is Hongkong Disneyland!

Around 10:00 in the morning, we're able to settle down at our quaint place just across the B Exit of Jordan Station. And we're off to our first destination, the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland! Hey Mickey, you're so fine you blow my mind, hey mickey! haha

Since we didn't availed any tour package, we made our itineraries with specific budgets & tips for us to be mindful of. haha So part of the this DIY trip, is to use the MTR going Disneyland. Thanks to HK efficient trains & buses, we easily waze our way around. I don't mind getting lost with you, lab!
*How to go to Disneyland via MTR: The shortest route from Jordan station is to take Lai King then change to Tung Chung Line to Sunny Bay then change to Disneyland Resort Line*

And finally, welcome to Hongkong Disneyland!
Nika + Kel

Because of sobrang pagod & summer heat, we decided to sit down on a park & seize the moment, and guess what? nakatulog si kel jan. haha Matatanda na tayo!

Happy Nikka & Biboy!
